I made one change. I use a stick of butter and let it melt while your preheating the skillet. After its melted, make sure the butter is on all the skillet so as not to stick. Pour the rest in your cornbread mixture. I ommited the vegetable oil
One of my favorites, from same cookbook. Stopped using Cream of Mushroom soup quite a while ago. I use Cream of Celery or Cream of Chicken. Still use chopped mushrooms though. Also add extra onions as well as fennel seeds and a dash of garlic powder. Although I've made this recipe often over 20 years, only recently began using elbow macaroni and now I think I prefer macaroni (my bag of egg noodles was ripped and stale).
